Final Thoughts

Projects like this do not happen because of one individual or one organization. They are the result of countless hours of planning, collaboration, hard work, and a shared commitment to improving the community.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Town of Randolph for investing in the future of our downtown and recognizing the value that trees bring to a community. We are also incredibly thankful for the support and expertise provided by Peter Butler of Strategic Vegetation Management. His knowledge of urban forestry, tree selection, and proper planting practices was instrumental in the success of this project and will help ensure these trees thrive for decades to come.

A special thank you is also owed to Randolph Deputy Tree Warden Jeffrey Thayer. This project began as an idea that Jeffrey championed for years. His dedication, coordination, and hands-on involvement were evident throughout every phase of the project. From planning meetings and business outreach to assisting crews in the field, Jeffrey's commitment played a major role in turning this vision into reality.

We would also like to recognize the many individuals and organizations whose efforts made this project possible long before construction began. Special thanks to Jon Kaplan of Walk+Bike+Roll Randolph, whose volunteer efforts in researching funding opportunities, preparing grant applications, assisting with grant administration, and helping develop the project's RFP were instrumental in moving the project from concept to reality.

We are equally grateful to the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation Urban and Community Forestry Program and the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission for providing grant funding that helped make this initiative possible. Their investment in urban forestry and community development directly contributed to the creation of these new planting sites throughout downtown Randolph.

Additional thanks are owed to Randolph Rotary, the Town of Randolph, the Randolph Highway Department, Central Supplies, DuBois & King, local business owners, property owners, and community volunteers whose support, contributions, and collaboration helped bring this vision to life.

We would also like to thank the Randolph Highway Department, the Randolph Police Department, local businesses, property owners, and community members who supported the project and helped make construction possible in a busy downtown environment.

As a local Randolph business, this project carried special meaning for our team. We are fortunate to work in the community that we call home, and having the opportunity to contribute to the beautification and long-term health of our downtown is something we take great pride in.

While the construction portion of the project has come to an end, the true success of this effort will be measured in the years and decades ahead. The nine trees planted throughout downtown Randolph will continue to grow, providing shade, beauty, environmental benefits, and a stronger connection to Vermont's natural landscape. Long after the equipment has left and the construction memories have faded, these trees will remain.

We are proud to have played a role in this project and look forward to watching these trees grow alongside the community they were planted to serve.
